Senior Pass (formerly Golden Age Passport)
If you're 62+, one of these cards issued by the National Park Service, entitles you and three adults to enter U.S. National Parks for no admission fee. Campgrounds and such 'directly administered' by the NPS are in most cases, available at a fee that's 50% reduced.
At 10$, the card will more than pay for the fee in one trip!

Good to know, thanks for the tip.

If you show up at the gate, with your ID, you get the pass for $10.00. If you go on line and download the form for application by mail, it costs you $20.00. Still well worth the Extreme bother of showing your ID to get lifetime access for only a few bucks once.
Note that the pass merely gets you INTO the NPS controlled GROUNDS. Then the camping, firewood, and all that are still at a price. Some of those are then at 50% off, but other amenities are not discounted.
Lake Mead just announced that they are doubling their prices for access in 2016.

Pops I really didn't find it a bother, as I would have entered the visitor center to check on camping conditions/availability anyway. As mentioned, items/services offered by NPS are reduced. Private concessionaires are generally offered at regular prices, though some DO have senior discounts. This occurrence varies widely, and sometimes it's not an advertised benefit. No one has ever hit me with a stick for asking, though your results may vary.

I keep a binder-book just inside the door of my 'pop-up' camper. Inside is a copy of a complete owners manual, with parts, wiring, and a schematic for each system in the camper. Tucked inside the front pocket is registrations, insurance, and license copies along with notes regarding tire sizes, various oil requirements, tongue weights, voltages, etc.
Also, included inside is 'next of kin' info, although sadly, what was once a robust list has eroded considerably.

I have started wearing dog tags again. I keep the "Notify ..." list in my wallet. I keep the car info in the car, the pickup info in the pickup, the trailer info in the trailer, etc.

In the den, I've a wall clock that indicates the Day of the Week, as well as Time of Day. Since retiring, there's really little difference between one day and the next, so the little clock comes in handy.

Well, they named that condition properly: RE-TIRED. I'm working harder and doing more than when I worked for a living. Of course, some of that is because I went back to work for that SOB I swore I'd never work for again. He was the most demanding boss I've ever worked for. (I worked for myself. ) Pops

It was retire or get fired for me. I did not want to go, they tried to get me to quit, but I held on til' I could get to 55.

Someone once said to me trust everyone but cut the cards anyway. I tend to trust people until given a reason not too.

Does anyone else have a 'rat drawer' in their kitchen? Not for actual rats, of course, but for adhesive tape, tacks, spare screwdrivers, small flashlight, string, etc?
Back in the day, spare fuses were kept there. Fuses and flashlights. A winning combo on a dark night.
