Beautiful work, red! I love the detail in the bird's feathers, especially.

I ain't no ornithologist, so what the heck is that?
At first I thought "blue jay", but they have a crest. Or is that only the males that have crests? Then again, girl birds are usually kinda drab and ugly, and that one ain't. So - what the heck is that?

The center one looks like a cardinal. Is that right? I've never seen one here in Colorado. In any event, it's a pretty bird, and a very well done photo, Red.

Good stuff, Red. As I tell some of my students, "You've got the eye." (Which is very different from when Mom gives you "THE EYE!" ) Pops

Thanks Yall', I really appreciate it. I take thousands of pictures and every once in a while I get lucky. The last two lens' I bought sure help me. I wish I was rich and could afford some expensive ones.

Red, I want you to digest this lesson. I learned it from a fellow who was the White House photographer during WWII and later dis a lot of work for National Geographic. The camera takes photographs and stores them away for you. The photographer takes pictures and pleases people with his art. I was out shooting with him one weekend and was complaining that my Brownie Hawkeye just wasn't taking good pictures. The next morning, he took my Brownie from me and handed me his !!Leica!! That evening, his pictures were just as good as ever and mine were just a sloppy as before. His camera which I used that day cost about a year's pay. Your equipment has to be adequate, of course. However, one of the hardest things to learn, and almost impossible to teach, is the eye for seeing and taking the picture. Otherwise you are just snapping photographs. Snapping photographs is good, and a must, for news and party times. You have the eye. Now, get out there and use it. Pops
