Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday here. The day when we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in wars past, and present. There were many special religious services and parades at war memorials. Both serving military, veterans and civilians were there. Many youth groups, cubs scouts etc also attended. All wore the poppy and union flags flew. It was as usual very moving, especially the big service and parade at the Cenotaph in central London. Representatives of all the commonwealth countries who sent soldiers to help us were there, and many many veterans. I have a feeling of pride, and at the same time sadness for those who were taken so young. Funny old world.
War is a dirty business, are we loosing sight of that? We so redilly send our young servicemen into danger. Yes, they sign up for it willingly, but its others, safe at home who decide to send them in. Same old story.

I remember an old Woody Allen film, Love and Death, it's a comedy. In one scene, he asks the question, ''I wonder how generals view big battles'', he then Sheep running back and forth over some little hills. A little over a minute in Woody's mind.

Tomorrow is the Marine Corps birthday followed by Veterans' Day. Nov. 10 and 11. Coincidence? I think not.
