In a different thread, Sasquach commented favourably towards a certain "music-food" combination. In this instance, jambalaya & the music of Credence Clearwater Revival. I really didn't think about it; it just seemed the 'right' food/drink combo.
Does anyone else have music/food combos that they enjoy?

Every time i put a pizza in the oven, Dean Martin? "...when the moon hits your eye..." Yeah, and maybe a bit of Sinatra. I've been binge-watching MadMen - which occurs in the transitional period at the end of the 50's. Very little of that decade appeals or carries good memories, however the background music for the series does so. It's interesting to note what tunes play during the lunch and dinner scenes.

Man, it gets me every time.

I'm a fan of the older country tunes, and of bluegrass/newgrass. The modern Nashville-influenced 'country' is just bad 1950's rock and roll. (Write a 'hook' and build a song around it.)
Today's country? A drugstore cowboy singing in torn jeans or shirt remains a drugstore cowboy.
I imagine I'm a fan of all 'good' music, but my definition of 'good' might vary from anyone else's. But, that's fine. I listen in the (ahem) comfort and privacy of my own home. Listening to The Who Magic Bus (at 100db), followed by Hank Williams singing So Lonesome, Limp Biscuit, Red Hot Chili peppers, J. Tull, followed by 'most anything sung by the dear Karen Carpenter; offers an example of the drift of an afternoon playlist.
What are your fav "kick-back" tunes/artists?

I still like Hank Jr's "Country Boy Can Survive", CDB's "Long Haired Country Boy". Yes, I like Jethro Tull, too.
