Dad owned the newspaper during the War and our reporter had a friend in London for the Blitz. Heard some horrific stories, second hand.

My father was a teen in London during the blitz. One day he found a shoe in the street and picked it up. It still had a foot inside it. My late mother also remembered the Blitz. She told me how she remembered being dragged by her mother towards a shelter as the sirens started and the bombs could be heard. The Germans threw everything that had at London, and other cities to demoralise the population. No chance. It had the opposite effect, every life lost made the population more determined to carry on.
