I have been finding some nice pocket watches to collect, they seem to be reasonably priced although I draw the line at non-functioning watches if they are not appropriately cheap. I enjoy the cheap broken ones just the same, they are sometimes plain on the outside but inside they are works of art. My favorite find is a silver engraved 1800s model, it has no stem so there is mystery as to whether it functions but if I had to guess I'd say it might, given that the sweep second hand occasionally runs by itself (or possibly it's haunted.) The hands are the most delicate bronze I have ever seen on a watch, I can't even take a proper pic with my phone. I realized ages ago that I should have taken the watchmaker/repair course in addition to jewelry manufacture/repair or instead of, as I could easily have made $100K annually repairing watches. Now my eyes are definitely too old for such work, and there are not nearly enough watchmakers in the world. If you've got fancy watches, new or old, I would enjoy seeing pictures!
