We dodged a bullet last night here in Kentucky. There was massive destruction south and west of us. Mayfield Ky was hit really hard by a tornado that was on the ground for over 100 miles. Bowling Green and numerous small towns were also damaged. Appears there were at least 4 tornados and the death toll is over 50 so far and may very well go higher. JOHN

It's so terrible. There is something totally unnatural about tornadoes in December.

Looks like MN is in danger tonight. I have high wind warnings to the tune of hurricane category 1 force as a possibility and severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and heavy rain. MN has never recorded tornadoes in December. From a high temperature in the 50s that will drop to the 20s by morning, there will be a flash freeze probably, and all of the above could knock out the power. I am not sure what I will do if the power gets knocked out but I won't be able to stay here.
Here's hoping it just doesn't happen.
