How I love the smell of picking 'maters first thing in the morning!
My wife is over it, Sparkle! Her tomatoes started producing mid July (unheard of in our parts) and she is still walking in each day with 4 or 5! She didn't plant enough (she thought) to can, but she's put up 12 jars already.

I have been giving away tomatoes, they are still ripening on the vines. One plant was 10'x12' because the vines rooted in all over in a network, they usually don't do that here. Thursday night's forecast keeps creeping toward frost though, so it could end soon.

We're likely two weeks from out earliest possible frost, so I might get another batch of canning done.

Are you remembering how hungry you were for a fresh tomato when you planted your plants?

With my neighbor over the back fence, I've been tempted a time or two.

Oh now I've really found a treasure, a leaf vacuum with a Honda engine! I ordered it from a dealership. My yard is too small to justify a riding mower with a bagger for leaves, the push mower has about a one gallon bagger that is pointless. Raking hurts tremendously and I'm down for days afterward, so I waited to find the right leaf vac and now it will be MINE!
All the leaves magically arrive in my yard somehow, one year I dumped nine pickup loads at the compost dump because conditions weren't great for burning them.

We have no trees so no leaves, and I wish I had some for winter mulching.

We have 2 acres to mow and an abundance of big trees thus an over-abundance of leaves. Mrs R got me a tow behind yard vacuum years ago for a combined Christmas and birthday present. It is an amazing time saver. I've already used it this year and I really need to use it again.

Our two year old grandson found his pumpkin! It was just his size and he carried it around for almost an hour! We got a couple of 10lb heirloom squash too! But the grandkids with 'their' pumpkins that grandma grew, made for an AWESOME day! Attachment Deleted

Our grandson is doing like our granddaughter used to do. When he gets out of the car and looks around at the property, his expression lights up with a big smile and he's off and running! Just try and keep up, especially when he and his sister zone in on the horses.

Our next door neighbor has miniature horses, and they are often in the field next to us. We get the biggest kick out of kids reactions to them !!

My leaf vac has arrived at the dealership, will pick it up this afternoon. Then if the leaves dry out I can actually use it! Almost all the leaves are down now because it has been so windy this week. Most of them are in my yard.
