This is a continuation of the "Another Mauser " thread. I've installed a Pachmar Decelerator pad, done some sanding and applied 5 coats of True Oil so far. I think its looking pretty good. Still need to install sling swivels and do some shooting with it . I installed a Tasco scope to start with but I plan on putting a better one on later when funds allow.

I should think you would be satisfied. A very nice rifle.

I've done a couple mausers previously and its not that bad if you're careful and follow directions.

Was playing with my 03A3 back in the late 40s. I took an old bicycle inner tube, cut a strip and laid it in the stock under the barrel. That improved things quite a bit. That was just as I was beginning to compete in 1000 yard. I had put the Redfield peep rear sight on and the Redfield hooded front sight on and it was accurate enough to keep me in the top 5 or 6, with an occasional 2nd or 3rd. It was sooooo much fun for a not-yet teenager to come off the firing line and hear an adult whine about "that kid beat me with IRON SIGHTS!" Pops
