Just back from the range, tried and tried to zero a single point on my Marlin, one minute its almost on, then off the paper entirely. I couldnt find it again. Placed the dot on the centre top of the paper, nothing, centre bottom, sides, nothing. Took it off in frustration and blew the centre out of the 10 ring with a tight group using the irons while muttering about consigning the single point to ebay!
Is someone trying to tell me something? Yes of course single points are quicker, nothing to alighen. But what use if you cant hit anything....

1shot, yes thats the part. I have discovered its the later design, the earlier being just a long bent spring. The one in your picture is correct except the spring on my one is flatter, but both would work. One problem is that many dont ship internationally.
Peep sights, yes, love them. However I am not unhappy with the barrel mounted front and rear opens, I can print tight linked groups at fair ranges (for a .357 carbine!!), but you do have to think about it. Luckily my eyes are still good and irons present no difficulty without any eye correction, but a single point is quick and easy placement.
Non the less I may do as you suggest and ebay the singlepoint. Rather getting bored barrel sighting again, and again, and again.

Hello Pops...yes shooter, I think it is the part as all say slight fitting needed maybe....tell you what, I read their policies page and kinda iffee on about stuff displayed being in stock for sure..contact page says no phone just email for manager...is Sunday evening as you know, so I will email now for confirmation part definitely in stock and will still search tonight for others and let you know when for sure....?/
Am proud you have that cal. Marlin. I think you should look into a Williams 5D style peep dial kit with front . They screw right in with locktight and you may or may not need fronts or hammer extender....been reading good reviews...4 to 5 " easy at 100. You know on the Marlin you can get year made by subtracting first two numbers from 100 ...example 257789 ...100-25=75....1975

1shot, really interesting, the first two numbers are 03, which I now know makes it a 1997. I looked into a peep but the only one I found needed some serious work to the receiver and a very high replacement front sight, which I dont like much because its vulnerable to being bashed.
As I said, the iron opens work fine for me at the distances the gun is effective at. Which to be fair isnt much. My own rule of thumb minimum was that a rifle should group a dinner plate at 350 yds. The Marlin is a lot of fun but hasn't a hope of doing that.

There are many Peeps and others that will directly fit that Marlin, but I agree with you, for that cal. or similar carbine standard irons are fine enough. Recieved confirmation this a.m. email that part is in stock. Have emailed you per mail you have listed on this site. Regards, 1shot
