Does anyone know how to make bear meat taste good? The best way, so far, that I have tasted is to put it it in a pot, with plenty of water, and boil the hell out of it. Any other ideas?

Can only offer following Moose Gal.....have eaten many types game mostly once and have no palette for most...probably due to preparation, freeze time, age, etc...as to bear strongly offer the following....
Treat as pork...no pink, 170➕ always, no smoke or jerky etc...cooking only...preparation of meat is everything unless of course you are surviving only...steak,roast or bits or sausage may influence cooking/prepare...you simply cant beat recipes at www.bearhunter.com I would suppose....

I'm glad you put "meat" in the question.
If you had just titled it "Cooking bear" I'm afraid my mind would have veered into places it should not enter.

Not that I'll ever kill a bear, but I have had some bear meat that wasn't too great! In reference to Alpo's statement: I wouldn't want to eat just any bear meat!

I've had bear. If it is treated properly, it is edible. I've always heard that you treat it just as if it were pork. The bear I've eaten was mostly in smoked roasts. Think "Ham". Almost every other animal I've eaten is easier to prepare and tastes better. Cougar and porcupine are the only ones I consider lower on the scale of desirability.
