I would presume that a doube-action c-n-b revolver, such as a Starr, was capable of being cocked (it had, after all, a hammer spur) and most likely of being put on half-cock, to allow the cylider to spin for loading and capping.
A DA pepperbox, however, HAS NO hammer spur. So how do you put it on half-cock (if you do), and if that's not how to release the barrel-group for capping, how do you?
I was attempting to tell someone the other day, and realized I DIDN'T KNOW!! A serious flaw in my knowledge of everything firearmical.

I dont know but do know there is a way. They were very popular before the transitional's. The best way is to get hold of one and figure it out. Shame I didn't know before last Sunday, I was at an arms fair and saw a few. I will be at another Sunday week, so if you remind me I will check it out. At a guess perhaps you can set the barrel block half way, like a safety notch on sone BP cylinders?
